It has been an amazing year being your 2018 Miss Wisconsin Preteen! I have been competing in National American Miss since I was six years old and it has played such a huge role in my life. During my reign I held many Beyond Limits Field Days for kids with disabilities, which I founded three years ago. I went to schools every month promoting my Kindness Campaign, raised money and created a Nami Walk team with my family, volunteered at the Run with Wolfes Walk, rang bells for the salvation army, donated gowns to the NICU at children’s hospital, and was featured in the World Class Princess Magazine.  Being a state queen is such an honor and I am blessed to have represented our beautiful state. As a titleholder, I love doing my part to help others. To all the girls competing, believe in yourself, you are amazing, make new friends, have a blast, never give up, and dream until your dreams come true!

One thing that I noticed all throughout high school was that I was one of only a few students in my classes that consistently raised their hand in class. I never had any fears towards speaking in front of my peers, and most importantly, my teacher. If I were to rewind back to being in middle school, there never would have been any moment in which I was actively speaking in class and engaging with my teachers.
In middle school, I was shy, unsure of myself and my academic abilities, and I was always afraid of being wrong in class. However, going into my freshman year of high school, I competed in my first National American Miss pageant. I found the experience truly exciting and enjoyable, and my highlight was placing in the Top 15 and winning the Talent Competition. My biggest takeaway from my first pageant weekend ever was NAM's message in being confident in yourself and your dreams. I had always loved learning and being in class, but I was never confident in my abilities. This key lesson that NAM taught me kept me coming back every year and helped me bust up the courage to be a more active student in class. I learned that teachers don't necessarily want you to be right all the time, but they want you to believe in your answers.
My first day of freshman year, I introduced myself to all of my teachers and asked them questions about their class and what they would be teaching. My dream was to get the best education possible, and achieving that goal had to start with having confidence in myself and my learning at school. Over the course of high school, I participated in many clubs that were focused on public speaking and presentation. I found myself using the skills that I learned at NAM, especially from the Interview and Personal Introduction portions of competition. I qualified and won several regional, state, and national competitions for business and entrepreneurship. Additionally, I never once had fears of presenting in front of class, which greatly benefitted my in-class performance and my overall impression as a student to my teachers.
I therefore realized that the skills that I built at NAM were not only helping me succeed at the pageants themselves, but also in every other event that I encountered in my life. Before my senior year, I came back to NAM once more to compete for the Washington Teen Title and won my first pageant ever. A few months later, I found myself applying to college and interviewing for my dream schools.
In the interviews for the most elite colleges, my interviewers gave me comments about how impressed they were at my confidence, poise, and eloquence. My Princeton interviewer even commented after notifying her of my acceptance, saying that out of all the candidates she has ever interviewed, I was the only one that she ran out of writing room on in her commentary form.
I am very thankful for my experiences at National American Miss, for the lessons that I learned and the skills that I gained from this organization helped me evolve and improve in every single aspect of my life. I found myself becoming a more confident student and person overall. This led me to find success at NAM, in academics, in my extracurriculars, and everything in between. I am so excited to be attending Princeton University this year, and am so thankful that my time with NAM could be a part of my journey to this amazing school.

I can’t believe it’s been a year! From joining the North Texas Pageant 2 weeks prior to showtime, with no pageant experience or coach; to then being crowned Miss Texas Princess and flying out to California to compete at Nationals and winning the National TOP MODEL award, and placing 2nd Runner up in the TOP 5, has been a total dream come true! First and foremost, Thank you Jesus for blessing me with this opportunity. I enjoyed every fundraiser and special event I appeared in, but my favorite was serving in my community with donating school supplies and preparing meals for children in need at Kids Meals on Wheels. This experience has forever changed my life, and I am here to tell you girls to always be true to yourself, love the skin you’re in, and never stop believing that you can, and you WILL! I am so grateful for everyone who supported me along the way, with all my heart THANK YOU. I will cherish all the wonderful friendships I’ve made, you all are truly my forever NAMily. A special Thank you to Mrs. Jennifer Carpenter for sponsoring me through it all, but most importantly for believing in me. To my mom, dad, and family, I love you and I couldn’t have done this without you. - Miss Texas Princess, Milayka Feliciano.

Has it really already been a year since I was crowned your NAM Texas Jr. Pre-Teen? Even crazier is that it was only my second pageant EVER! I feel so proud to have represented our great state with pride, placing in the Top 10 at the National Pageant.

There were so many exciting moments during this past year --- from participating in parades to meeting with the Mayor, I really got a taste of what it means to be royalty. I participated in a local Chalk Walk, delivered cookies to a nearby fire department, helped out at the National Night Out Against Crime, and made a difference in my community through Harvest House, Mission Arlington, the Ronald McDonald House, and Hope Supply.  While it's fun to wear a crown, it's even more rewarding to know what you can do with that crown. I hope I shared a little of its sparkle everywhere I went.

As a local celebrity, I was featured in a newspaper and local magazine. I got to walk in New York Fashion Week and even signed with an agent while out in California for Nationals. I had my first ever audition and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

I am looking forward to meeting each of YOU this weekend. Remember: be yourself, have fun, and the rest will come naturally. We're going to have an amazing time!

Love, Addalyn Tackett Miss Texas Jr.Pre-Teen

One year ago today I was blessed with the opportunity of  a lifetime. Standing up on the stage prepared for whatever name that was going to be called, and as God had it planned, it was mine. My dream had come true and I was crowned The North Texas pre-teen 2019. I thank God every day that I was able to have a year that was full of service, smiles and personal growth. It is said “pretty is what you're given but beauty is what you do with it” and I hoped to live up to all this title bestowed.  This experience has taught me that with the crown or not I am able to make differences in my community and that being a National American Miss title holder is about having a beautiful heart and not just a beautiful face.  To my successor, enjoy every minute of your amazing year and take advantage of every opportunity as it will go by in the blink of an eye. I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to represent Texas in such an amazing organization. This year will forever hold a place in my heart. Always and forever I am your 2019 North Texas Preteen, Devan Messmann

A year ago, I was blessed with the title of the 2019 National American Miss Texas. Seven years ago, I got a letter in the mail for an open call, and the Lord placed a dream in my heart. When I participated in my first North Texas pageant in 2013, I was a shy thirteen-year-old and unsure of myself. Each year, I would work hard to present the best version of myself to the judges, and every time I would improve and see my confidence growing. I am now a confident, self-assured, goal-oriented senior in college. Throughout my years with NAM I have made friendships and had the best summers of my life. Going to Nationals this year as a state queen was a dream come true and I loved being able to meet so many amazing women across the country. NAM has given me amazing opportunities and throughout my reign, I was able to represent the great state of Texas as Nationals, work with different non-profit organizations throughout the state, bond with my sister queens. Thank you to my family and friends for continuing to support me through my pageant journey. My best piece of advice for the contestants is to not think about the outcome and enjoy the weekend with family and new friends you will make!

Good luck and have fun!

To the amazing ladies of the great state of Texas:

Welcome to the weekend of a lifetime! I had no idea what I was getting myself into a couple years ago when I first stepped onto the National American Miss Texas stage. From that first walk to my final farewell as your Texas Jr. Pre-Teen, this journey has been MAGICAL!

I appeared in the 4th of July Parade with my sister queens, did a photoshoot with Kathy Whittaker Photography, met Miss Texas USA, and stayed busy through quarantine with various community service engagements. I had a chance to grow my Art for the Heart Initiative and even started a new project, Gals & Dolls, where I hosted tea parties at local senior centers with my friends. I took advantage of all the fun travel opportunities NAM provides, visiting the Florida, Indiana, and Illinois State Pageants and doing some serious shopping at Ashley Rene's. But the real icing on the cake was my trip to Anaheim, California for Nationals. Not only did I capture a spot in the Top 10, but I also was named the Jr. Pre-Teen National Model, Talent, and Personality winner. It was a week I'll never forget.

While only one of you will leave with the Texas crown and banner, you each share a piece of the sparkle --- so make sure to shine YOUR light bright. I can't wait to see what you'll accomplish.

Crowns, Kisses, & All My Best Wishes,
Micah McCall

This past year, I have proudly represented the great state of Texas, as your Miss Texas Pre-Teen 2019.  This experience has been simply amazing!  From the moment I was crowned, I have tried my best to fulfill each day improving myself and improving the lives of those around me.

I was able to volunteer at many great organizations including the San Antonio Food Bank, The Animal Defense League, Communities in Schools, The Humane Society, and Texas Husky Rescue.  I spoke up for the many voiceless animals, encouraging individuals to spay and neuter their pets, to adopt and don’t shop for their next furry companion, protesting with PETA  on the horrific conditions animals endure at circuses and factory farming, and by taking my dedication to the next level and to end speciesism, and the exploitation of all animals, by becoming a Vegan.

I visited several state pageants this year and attended Nationals in California over the Thanksgiving holiday.  It was a blast!  I met up with old friends and made so many new ones!  Disneyland with my NAM sister queens was wonderful!

I did my best to promote confidence and encourage people to pursue their dreams and to become the best version of themselves.  Thank you, National American Miss, for making an organization that promotes the uniqueness and individuality of all young women and instilling the confidence in me to make a difference in this world.

To my successor, be prepared for an amazing year!  Wear your crown proudly and utilize the title you have been given.  Take lots of pictures, create amazing memories, make a difference in the world, and most of all, HAVE FUN!

Hugs and Kisses,

National American Miss Texas Pre-Teen 2019

Hello My Sweet Namily,

I am so thrilled to be going into this weekend with y’all! As we have gotten closer to these days, my excitement to meet, hug, and take pictures with each of you has only grown! My journey with National American Miss has been the absolute best years of my life! I began my journey in 2017, right where you are, at the Texas State Pageant. This system has grown me from a shy, insecure girl to a strong, confident young woman! Capturing the title of the 2019 National American Miss Texas Teen was an absolute dream come true! It has given me the platform to share my passion for overseas missions and serving those in need! During my reign I had the opportunity to serve overseas in Romania and Ecuador, donate 180+ books to a local elementary school, and show my support to local businesses during COVID-19.

Coming from a place with all sincerity, I pray that each of you walk away from this weekend feeling confident, valued, and beautiful! Each of you has a special place in my heart. I want to encourage y’all to give 100% in every competition and to unapologetically be yourself! You were created to be YOU! My last tip would be to make friends with each of the girls in your division. NAM has given me some of my very best friends in this whole world, and I’m forever grateful!

With love,

Alexis Harper- 2019 National American Miss Texas Teen

After 10 years, I can’t believe my time to say goodbye has come. I began my journey with National American Miss in 2010 when I competed as a Junior Teen; I didn’t make the top 15, but I left with a fire to continue bettering myself. I thought my time at NAM was done when I aged out 5 years ago, but little did I know, I’d have one last chance at a state title when the age limit was raised last year. To say I was excited when I found out I had won the title of 2019 Miss Texas is an understatement.

Throughout my year I’ve had so many opportunities to make a difference. I was able to donate supplies to The Boys & Girls Club, raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of my grandfather, and spread my platform “I Am More” by volunteering weekly with the Girls Empowerment Network.

At Nationals I was honored to place Top 5 in the Photogenic and Spokesmodel competitions! I also made so many amazing friends and my Namily grew exponentially with all my new sister queens.

National American Miss has helped make me into the woman I am today. A woman who knows how to make her dreams into a reality, and a woman who finds joy in inspiring others. While this may be my farewell to competing at NAM, I will forever keep the lessons I learned here in my heart, and I will always be a NAM Girl.

For the last time,

I am your 2019 National American Miss Texas,

Rachel James

Dear 2020 Florida Princess Contestants:

Wow! What a crazy, exciting, whirlwind of a year it’s been for me with NAM! I can’t believe it’s already been over a year since I was crowned the Florida Princess, and in a few short weeks, I will be passing on my crown to a new queen! Being a NAM Queen is a full time job and not one to be taken lightly! After I won, I set straight to work donating school supplies, volunteering for The Sunshine Foundation, selling my Lemonade for Good with the SEED Foundation, and preparing for nationals! I even got to do the weather with Denis Phillips and ABC News!  Our week in Anaheim at nationals was life changing!  It was there I danced with “that guy” and won the coveted title of National American Miss Princess, which is a moment I will cherish forever!

My year with Florida will be coming to an end but I will still continue to do amazing things as your national queen. To incoming contestants, my advice is to have lots of fun, make new friends, and always be yourself! Be confident in who you are as a person, smile, and be kind to all, those are the best words of advice I can give! Thank you to my sister queens and to everyone who has supported me on my journey! Good luck to everyone competing!
Love,
Brielle Skye

Cinderella once said “If you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true!” After two years of practice and lots of believing, especially from my Daddy, my dream really did come true! I was so lucky to have all of my grandparents and my best friend and her family there to celebrate with me! As I began my year as your Miss Florida Jr Preteen, I was ready to serve and I had some pretty big goals in mind. My first stop was to donate all of the school supplies that were given by the fabulous contestants. I was able to fill more than 100 backpacks at a back to school drive in my hometown! Then it was off to Texas as visiting royalty! I had a blast with my new friend Micah and all of the amazing Texas state finalist! Together we tried ice skating for the first time, had amazing photo shoots and I even got my very first In and Out Burger! So good by the way! When I returned home I immediately got to work collecting stuffed animals for my organization Kinsley’s Cuddles for Kids”. After an interview on WTXL news, I had donations coming in from as far always as New Jersey! Thanks to all of the support I received, I was able to surpass my goal and donate more than 500 stuffed animals to my local fire departments for them to give out to kids in scary situations! November came quickly and it was off to California where I couldn’t wait to spend a week with my Mom, Dad,  little sister and of course my NAMily! But, not without a stop on Rodeo Drive first! My Mom was in Pretty Woman heaven! Parties, Disney Land and late night key lime pie snacks were the perfect way to spend the week with some of the most amazing girls from around the USA!

I am so thankful to National American Miss for this amazing opportunity! I loved every single minute of this past year, even the ones spent debating chicken sandwiches and the ones spent wearing a mask! Mrs. Candace and Miss Tiffany, thank you for the fun zoom Chats with my sister queens during quarantine. Mrs. LaKishia, thank you for all you do to make your girls feel like the queens that they are, even without a crown and banner! Mr and Mrs Mays, thank you for going above and beyond to make NAM the absolute best pageant system! Mrs. Chamanda, where would we be without you? Thank you for believing in me and keeping my mom in check! To my little sister, Presley, thank you for always helping me practice and letting me know when I mess up! Mommy, thank you for always making me take so many pictures so that I will always remember this year! Daddy, thank you for dressing up for every single party and for never leaving your wallet at home! To each one of my sister queens, I’m so blessed to have spent this last year with you! I love you all and can’t wait to see what your future holds! To each contestant, remember, dreams really do come true! Forever you’re 2019 Miss Florida Jr Preteen, I am, Kinsley Locke!

Is it possible to be the most grateful teenager in America?  That is the way I feel about my role as NAM Wisconsin Jr. Teen.  For six years, I returned to the state pageant to compete against myself and reach my goal of winning the state title.  Nationals took me to the next level as a Top 12 Finalist, winning Golden Achievement Award in Service, and 1st RU Miss Personality.

Throughout the year, I took advantage of every opportunity to serve Wisconsin. Teaming up with Sport Clips Help a Hero Foundation, The Penguin Project, Dolls Doing Good, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Wisconsin Special Olympics, Salvation Army, WisCorp, Children’s Museum of La Crosse and Restore Hope, virtual classroom visits and more!

Who enjoys adventures around every corner? This girl! I have spent the summer touring as visiting royalty and it has been fun to meet contestants across the country and state queens.  Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, Indiana, Illinois, Arizona, Nevada, and California state pageants led up to the Wisconsin/Minnesota state pageant where I will crown my successor.

Shining the spotlight on others throughout the year was awesome!  I was able to highlight  Wisconsin Jr. Teens going back to 2004 on my social media page as well as special needs actors from The Penguin Project! If you want to see what I’ll be up to next, follow me on social media @AllHeartRubie. It has been an honor to wear the Wisconsin banner across my heart this past year.

With Love,
