When I think back to the numerous memories I’ve made with National American Miss and everyone involved, I can’t help but feel incredibly blessed.  The people I have met have changed my life in so many wonderful ways.
I’d like to personally thank Steve and Kathleen Mayes and their staff for providing such an amazing system that has helped me become the young woman I am today.  Growing confidence, making friends, and learning life skills are rules that I will continue to live by for the rest of my life.
I wish there was enough space to personally thank everyone involved with National American Miss.  There are so many of you who have been a positive role model so far through my 8 year journey with this fantastic system.  We are forever NAMily.
I’d also like to take a minute to recognize my family.  They have always been there to support me through each pageant, the preparations, wardrobe malfunction, driving to numerous appearances, all the while making sure special memories were being made.  I am so lucky to have you all, and I love each and every one of you with all of my heart
To the next title holder, remember to enjoy every moment that this organization has to offer.  The possibilities are endless and you are now a part of this wonderful world we all call NAMily! I’m so excited for you and all the memories you are going to make.
Thank you again to everyone for making my year as your NAM Illinois Pre Teen one I will cherish forever.

As my reign as the NAM Illinois Jr. Teen comes to a close, I can’t help but feel honored and proud to have represented not only my state, but this amazing organization.
When I first competed as a princess 10 years ago, it was not only to build confidence, but to also have fun, and make friends. I can honestly say that the friendships I have been blessed with over the years with NAM have been so special, and ones that I will cherish for a lifetime.
I would like to thank Steve and Kathleen Mayes along with their staff and directors across the country who have taught me so many life skills. I am lucky to have had you all as my role models, and I am humbled to call you all NAMily.
To my family- Mom, Dad, Daniel, Tatum, and Kristofer, thank you all for being the best family a girl could have.  I love you all so much, and your unconditional love and support through the years has meant the world to me. I could not have done this without you all by my side.
To my successor, I wish you the same wonderful experience and know you are going to enjoy the year with your fabulous new sister queens as I did. Remember to laugh, smile, make friends, and enjoy every minute- the time truly does fly by.
Again, Thank You everyone for making this journey one I will forever cherish and never forget!

Wishing everyone much love,
Lindsey Pearlman

A new chapter of my life started on July 2017 when I was crowned Florida Jr
Pre-teen Cover Girl. It has been a terrific journey to where I continue to better
myself, give back to the community, participate in so many events,
volunteering many hours, being with my sister queens that I am proud to call
my NAMily and be someone others can look up to.
I want to thank the NAM staff for giving girls of all ages the opportunity to
shine, I will always have a special place in my heart for NAM.
Being with NAM for 4 years has helped shape me into a person I am proud to
be and has given me the experience and confidence I need in order to be
successful in my future. It’s not always about the dress, but about the girl in
the dress. I truly believe this is what NAM is all about. I look forward to the
years ahead competing, continuing to grow and being with my NAMily.
Best of luck to all contestants and remember…. Take every opportunity that
comes your way, enjoy the journey, make a difference and you are already a
winner for believing in yourself.

What an incredible year this has been. Winning my 3rd National American Miss title, placing 1st Runner Up at Nationals, graduating High School and making the University of North Texas Cheer Team. I never would have imagined so many good things could happen to me in such a short amount of time.
Being a part of the National American Miss system these last 9 years has been the most amazing journey. It is more than just a pageant, it is an incredible organization that empowers young girls to become strong confident women who continue their journey with grace, kindness and a genuine appreciation for what it takes to set and achieve goals. I would never have moved past my shy insecurities had it not been for the support I received through this system and I know that as I continue forward to my next steps I will take all I have learned and use it to make my dreams come true. I am truly grateful for the guidance and love I have found in the NAM sisterhood and from all the NAM Staff.
I am also thankful to my parents, family and friends for supporting me on this journey as I know I could never have achieved my dreams without them.
To all the girls out there competing from Princess to Miss, enjoy the weekend, make new friends, be yourself, always smile and never forget that no matter who takes home the crown you are now a member of the NAMILY and it's a great family to be a part of!
Best of Luck.
Your 2017 Miss Texas Teen,
Justice Thompson

 Dear Successors,
My advice is to start your reign by cherishing every moment you hold your crown. The time goes by way too fast. Make sure to take sooooo many photos!
At NAM Nationals, make as many new friends as possible. I did, and they are some of the best people in the world.
Most important: have fun and stay true to your heart, because a dream is a wish your heart makes.
Oh, and one more thing: Miracles Happen! ;)
Forever your 2017 Miss Minnesota Teen,
Grace Grell

This year as your Mn JPT has been a year of experience, growth and opportunity.

I lead Team Tiara in my annual stroll for epilepsy, donated to hurricane victims with NAM serves and rocked the red kettle for The Salvation Army.

To escape the Minnesota winter, we drove to Nebraska and rocked the runway at the Kids Rule Fashion Show. And was so excited to meet Miss USA ( and former NAM girl ) Sarah Rose Summers!!

The best thing about NAM is, you get to make friendships from all over the country! I was lucky enough to be crowned by one of my best friends Grace.

I feel I’ve accomplished so much being only 10yrs old. And this is just the beginning!

What an Awesome Year for Miss New York Jr. Teen!

My journey with NAM started very similarly to many others: a letter in the mail then an open call presentation. Ever since my first pageant with NAM in August of 2015, I had been determined to come back and win the crown. On August 14 of 2017, not only did i win the title of my (literal) dreams, but I also won so much more.

NAM has afforded me with countless opportunities. Only days after being crowned, I cooked meals at the Ronald McDonald House with my new sister queens. I visited the NYC Fair and Miss Bronx Scholarship Pageant, volunteered at the Light the Night Walk, and travelled to California for the very first time!

I had loads of fun representing my home state with honor and pride at Nationals ‘17. I met some of the most inspiring, hardworking, dedicated, intelligent, and successful young women from across the country. There’s no price for an environment like that. After returning to NYC from Anaheim, I knew I had made lifelong friends.

My greatest accomplishment with my title has been starting The Queen Next Door with my sister queens Lauren and Cynthia, a website dedicated to uplifting girls through pageantry and changing the negative stereotype associated with it. Through this site, I have reached girls from all over the country and celebrated their achievements. I have promoted these ideas to over 1,100 students in the past year, and I can’t wait to continue to do so. (thequeennextdoor.wordpress.com)

To NAM: Thank you for giving me, and many others, these amazing opportunities. You have done so much to make the world a better place, and it wouldn’t be the same without you.

To my successor: Get ready to make great use of your crown. Your title can go as far as you make it, and it’ll go farthest when you have passion and a plan. Don’t take any moment for granted. Make loads of friends at nationals, as they’ll help you get far!

A huge thanks to my parents for allowing me to participate in the first place. You guys are my biggest supporters, and I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without your love and guidance.

This isn’t goodbye, just see you later!

Signing off for the last time,
I am your 2017  Miss New York Jr. Teen, Jordan Sanchez

Dear NAM Girls,

I am your 2017 National American Miss Illinois Teen Rachel Hodson. I am so excited to meet you all soon! By being a NAM Girl, you have drive, passion, confidence, and courage. Just by participating in this pageant, you should be very proud of yourself. National American Miss has given me so many memories, friends, and skills that I will carry with me forever.

After earning my title last year, I spent my reign volunteering with my wonderful sister queens. What rewarding experiences we had together! We were able to impact so many lives by making blankets for preemie babies, baking cookies at Ronald McDonald House, and writing letters over the holidays for women in shelters. I personally worked to promote my foundation Rachel’s H.E.A.R.T (Helping Empower Adolescents through Reading and Tutoring). This year alone, I donated over five hundred books to an underfunded elementary school in Wauconda and hundreds of school supplies and hygiene products to Turning Point Women and Children’s Shelter, organized a book drive in my school district, where we collected almost two thousand books for Bernie’s Book Bank, and read to local children once a week. The most gratifying times were those we devoted to charity.

I am thrilled to meet all you amazing girls and learn about your passions and aspirations. I encourage you all to cherish every moment during pageant weekend and make lifelong friendships. I send hugs and wish you good luck in all your endeavors!

Yours truly,

2017  Miss Illinois Teen Rachel Hodson

Walt Disney once said, all your dreams can come true if you have the courage to pursue them. He was right—one of my biggest dreams came true when I was crowned your 2017 Miss Texas Princess.

With my new crown, I got right to helping in my community. I donated my hair to make cancer wigs, helped with back to school drives, visited nursing homes, and helped with Hurricane Harvey relief. I even got to be on the news many times!

After that, it was time for nationals! It was so much fun making new friends and representing the great big state of Texas! The best part of nationals was taking home the national Heart of Service and Best Resume awards.

Who knew a year could be so fun and go by so fast? I sure didn’t!

Thank you National American Miss for giving girls like me the chance to dream big and experience the opportunity of a lifetime!

A special thank you to my Mimi and Paw Paw and my wonderful family for your support! Thank you mommy for always pushing me, loving me, and driving me everywhere!

Trust me, this won’t be the last time you hear my name!  But for now, always remember we all have the power to make the world a brighter place. Love, laugh, and do good for others.

Like my pal Mickey Mouse says, see you real soon! With love, your 2017 Miss Texas Princess, Anabella Spears.

One year ago my dream came true: I was crowned your 2017 National American Miss New Jersey Teen, I was shocked! This past year has truly been incredible and I have grown so much, not only as a person, but as a friend. National American Miss has introduced me to some of the most amazing individuals and I’m so grateful for all the friendships I have gained throughout my time representing this system. Some things I was able to do in this past year included volunteering with my sister queens, to sharing the National Stage—I have gained the most amazing memories! I was also given the opportunity to run my own cut a-thon with my former cosmetology class to raise money for the Lupus Foundation Of America! I was even given the opportunity to volunteer for Angels Community Outreach, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Ronald McDonald House and many other amazing organizations. Giving back to others during my year as your New Jersey Teen has been so rewarding, I wish I could do it all over again! I want to thank my friends and family for all of their love and support this past year, I couldn’t have done it without you! And thank you to National American Miss for this opportunity of a lifetime that will forever hold a special place in my heart! To the 2018 New Jersey Teen, have fun and enjoy every second of your reign, it goes by too quick! I know it did for me!

“Dream Big”. A saying that I have been told throughout my 5 year career at National American Miss. It
was also these same two words that helped me to achieve the dream of becoming part of the NAM
royalty. In my room I have shelves full of my NAM trophies, with one shelf, the middle one, specifically
dedicated to my NAM Miss New York Preteen sash, crown, and banner. No matter what I was doing: Just
waking up, coming home after school, or even creating cards for my program A Card For A Smile, I
would sometimes casually glance at the trophy, and be overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. I would sit
there in awe of the trophy, thinking “Wow, I have really did this.” I will never forget the night of the
initial crowning, the night where I felt all of the feelings.
Throughout the feeling of awe, and shock, I continued to prepare for NAM nationals by practicing my
walks, speeches, and running through interview questions. NAM nationals would always be on my mind,
so much so that I had an image of the nam logo hanging on my vision board. I would practice every day
until the day when it was time to leave to go to California! It was a lot of fun going to all the parties,
rehearsals, and getting to know all the girls! I especially love that now, we still all keep in touch because
we’ve created an enormous group chat with all the NAM state queens! I was so excited to have the
opportunity to be standing up there on the nationals stage in California alongside some pretty awesome
girls, and staff members, and being able to standing up there in a state of shock after being called for the
top 10, was even more amazing.
NAM also introduced me to an aspect of my life that has now become a part of me… volunteering.
Volunteering has been such an imperative part of my journey with NAM, because I was not only
competing for myself, but I was also competing on behalf of the residents at my local nursing home, the
children at the ronald mcdonald house, and all those who had attended, or supported the walks that I
would volunteer at, and I hope that I’ve made them all proud.
I can honestly say, there is nothing that I would change about my reign, and that I am so excited to guide
my successor through her reign. I would also like to include a thanks to my mother, because without her, I
would have no one to get me to California, Practice interview questions with, or even to just be a person
that I can hug to help calm my nerves during the pageant weeks. Lastly, I hope to say in touch with all
NAM girls everywhere, through my instagram Hazel_Ron.
Love,
Hazel Ron

This year has been full of wonderful opportunities to serve, and represent not only the great state of Utah but the best pageant system in the world!  I have been blessed with incredible new friends, reigned with one of my besties, and met many others who have helped shape and guide me through this experience. What an Awesome Year for Miss Arizona Teen!

I have had the amazing opportunity to be the 2017 National American Miss Arizona Teen! NAM has been a part of my life for the last 12 years and has truly made me into the young woman that I’am today. Representing NAM for a second time as a state title holder has truly been a blessing.

This year I volunteered with Douglas Care Days, where I donated bike helmets to children in the community. Donated over 200 backpacks and school supplies in my community with the help of NAM and my organization. My organization is called “Project Happiness Arizona”, which promotes community service and volunteerism through student leadership. I spent the day with children from the Hope Kids Walk. I worked at my local domestic violence shelter, promoting my platform of ending domestic violence through community awareness. Before I knew it, it was time to represent AZ at the national pageant.

I had an amazing time and bless to say I came home with spirit stick, top 5 in national spokesmodel, and placed in the top 10 to the national queen’s title. NAM is an experience like no other. I can say that NAM prepares girls for beyond the pageant stage, equipping them with leadership skills they can use for the rest of their life. I’m grateful to have had this year to represent Arizona and NAM. I cant wait to see everyone at the Arizona state pageant!

Best Wishes,
Caitlyn Kramer

Seven years ago I stepped onto the National American Miss stage. I had a beautiful ball gown and simply could not wait to wear it. However, I was a shy girl, a bit terrified to speak my introduction. There was no chance that I would enter the spokesmodel, actress, or a number of other optionals that required public speaking. My takeaways though were new friends, a fun weekend, and the words of the emcee who told us to always pursue our dreams, try new things, and be fearless. She encouraged us all to come back again. I did.
Each year I prepared a little better, practiced a little more, and tried something new. Each year I improved my scores, earned trophies, plaques, and recognition, and always, always, made new friends and had a great weekend. I became more confident, comfortable with public speaking, and every year earned a trophy for trying multiple new optionals.
Last summer I was crowned National American Miss New Jersey. Years of hopes and dreams had come to fruition and I was so very excited and honored to begin my year. As I stood on stage with a crown on my head and roses in my arms little did I know that this was going to be one for the books.
Appearances, modeling, service, and more started within days of crowning. I met my sister queens and we had a wonderful time getting to know each other on the beach in Atlantic City during a photoshoot. Over the next few months we met up at events, supported each other in person, and via social media, and planned for Nationals. We also supported those affected by the awful hurricanes last season with collections and donations of school supplies.
I was also fortunate to be in a virtual group with the Miss contestants across the U.S., and by the time we met in Anaheim, many were like friends I had known forever. Nationals was everything I had heard about, and so much more. Themed rehearsals were so much fun. Going to Disneyland, Hollywood, and the Thanksgiving banquet, however, are memories that will last forever.
But the journey did not end at Nationals. For me the work with my Foundation was gearing up. What an honor to have so many sister queens attend a casting and ultimately strut the runway in support of children on the autism spectrum at Shop. Sell. Strut! ™
This past year, I have run, walked, skated, danced, and strutted in support of others. I’ve used the respect of the National American Miss name and my title to show kindness and compassion to as many people as I could. I wish the same for each and every girl stepping on the NAM stage for the first time or as repeat contestants.  Remember the words of NAM “Unleash Your Potential!” Best of luck to all of the contestants competing this weekend, and in all of your future service activities and adventures.
With love and support,
2017 National American Miss New Jersey

It is the hope and dreams we have that makes us great.
Hi, my name is Ivanka Panasik and I’m 2017 National American Miss NJ Princess.
Last year in August I entered my very first NAM competition and was extremely excited to capture the crown. What a wonderful feeling it was to hear my name. I felt like I was in fairy tale.
National American Miss opened a new door for me, filled with lots of sunshine. Being able to qualify for Nationals in California and to represent my beautiful state of New Jersey was the most rewarding experience.  Spending time with my family and queen sisters was unforgettable because we had so much fun together. Thanksgiving Dinner and trips to Disneyland and Hollywood were among of my favorites.
It would not have been possible without my amazing mom and dad. My 10 year old brother Victor was not only my escort at the competitions but he was also my coach and the biggest supporter.  He is the older brother every girl wishes for. Victor is my best friend.
This past year I learned that even as a 6 year old kid I can volunteer my time in community. I loved to help the Parent Teacher organization with the coloring contest at the Bedminster Fall Festival. I also walked in a Fashion show for Shop. Sell. Strut. to support kids on the Autism spectrum, and made dinner at Ronald McDonald House with my sister queens. I also had a privilege to meet local leaders and to correspond with national leaders.
I am very lucky that my family and I believe that trying new things widens our horizons. Working hard to achieve my goals and be kind to people made me a very strong girl. Being myself means to embrace every challenge I have and to enjoy the little things such as ice cream, soccer and dance.
My amazing year is coming to the end. I am excited to crown a new Princes in my state.
Get up, dress up and never give up.

Dream Big and Work Hard and this may be your year, girl.

At just eleven years old, I began competing with National American Miss. I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. Six years later, I was able to fulfill my dream by being crowned The new National American Miss New York Teen. What a year it has been! This year, I was able to step out my comfort zone and do a bunch of things I never thought I could. I participated in food pantries, Beach clean ups and I was even able to volunteer with the Love Yourself Project which is something I care deeply about.

Before I knew it, Nationals came around and it was the best week of my life. I was finally able to meet all the teen queens from across the nation who were all so accepting, driven and genuinely kind. I am grateful for the bond these girls and I have. Being on the Hollywood Tour and Disneyland made me never want to leave. To top it all off, I was able to come home with 3rd Runner up in the nation for National Runway Model.

This year would have not been possible with my support system. To all my friends, cousins, siblings and most importantly, parents. I am grateful for each and everyone of you. You guys made me the woman I am today and you support is always greatly appreciated. To all the contestants, You guys are so brave and beautiful. I hope you all soak in each and every moment of pageant weekend and make memories that will last a lifetime. Most importantly, Don’t forget to be yourself and embrace every flaw!

For the last time, I am your Miss New York Teen 2017, Marsheley Johanna Souverin.
